Pentecost Message
by Fr. Elliott
You generously made capital contributions for the future of our parish through the 3 ONE 6 Campaign. To date you have given $485,000.00 to the campaign and we expect there will be more as we approach the end of the campaign.
You generously attended and contributed to the first Preschool BBQ and Art Auction helping to raise over $5000 for this important ministry, which touches the lives of so many children and families within our community.
On a more personal note, the Elliott's received a very generous gift this past week of a bright red Pentecost golf cart. The cart was given anonymously by one family "in thanksgiving for all the Elliott's have done for St. Andrew's in the Pines." To that family the Elliott's are most grateful and we say, "thank you so very much" for your generosity! It is overwhelming to us to believe that anyone would offer such a generous gift to us.
This Sunday is Pentecost. Pentecost marks the end of the 50 days of the Easter season and the birth of the Church Universal with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is another affirmation of God's generosity toward His people. When you think about it for a little while it is overwhelming to think that God would offer us such a wonderful gift. However, it is within God's nature to be generous and His generosity to us I find reflected here in the Pines. Generosity is born of abundant faith and our abundant faith in God has been revealed overwhelmingly in these last 50 days through your giving.
I am humbled and so very proud to be your rector. In the name of Father, and of Son, and of the Holy Spirit, I say Thank You for your generosity, it truly is overwhelming!
See you all Sunday! Wear red, it will match our new, smokin', cool, red Pentecost golf cart and more than that, it will match the fiery love God has for you!
Blessings and Peace to you, my generous people!
